Great Chart...

I've been meaning to post this for awhile. I think you can debate the cost of the bailouts, but it is very interesting to see the prospective cost of this series of bailouts in a historical perspective.
The 2008 bailout exceeds the cost of the Marshall Plan, the Louisiana Purchase, the trip to the moon, the S&L crisis, the Korean War, the New Deal, the Iraq War, Vietnam and NASA!!

I like your log, so not picking, becuase I think we are so screwwed in the next couple of years, we can't ev4en beging to guess what will fail when. That being said there is perhaps some further analysis needed on your "comparison". I ahven't looked it up, but should there be a curve or reference made to corresponding inflation adusted GDP and perhaps tax collections, and maybe even population, for subsequent $ effect per capita? Just a thought (it may actualy be worse :)
