Richie Havens in Clayton

Completely off-topic, but is everyone aware that Richie Havens is playing at the Clayton Opera House this Friday night? Seriously, Richie Havens, who opened The Original Woodstock, in Clayton! Great work by the people at the Opera House who continue to expand the access to the arts in the 1000 Islands.

I'm always going to partial to RATM's "Freedom" but Mr. Haven's song is a timeless treasure of American music.

I had the pleasure of seeing Richie Havens this past spring in Hunter Mountain, NY at the Fifth Annual Mountain Jam festival. He was fantastic and can still "bring it" even in his seventh decade. The other two musicians who accompanied him were stellar as well. They sounded great together. Clayton's in for a treat!

I saw another youtube clip of Mr. Havens rocking recently and I was amazed at his energy and enthusiasm.

I have another engagement scheduled for Friday evening, but I might have to sneak downtown for this show.
