One last thought on jobs data

I noted last week that the percentage of unemployed that have been unemployed for more than 27 weeks was now over 4%. However, this chart shows just how unusual this recession is....









I don't find it particularly reassuring to read the government's list of fastest growing industries for employment over the next decade.








Healthcare, education, administration, food service, government, retail, etc. Wow - those sound like some cutting edge 21st century jobs.

When I read this story I had to double check that it wasn't some comedy central joke or onion article.

"Credit specialists at Citi are considering launching the first derivatives intended to pay out in the event of a financial crisis." Ugh.
